Canadore College
Canadore College was founded in 1967 as a campus of Cambrian College of Sudbury. It got an independent status in 1972. It has a lush green campus of 650 acres. The Canadore College has 4 campuses namely Aviation Technology Campus, Commerce Court Campus, the Education Centre in North Bay Ontario, and the fourth one is in Parry Sound. Students can choose from volleyball, soccer, ice hockey or even cricket. Canadore truly represents the rich sports culture of Canada. The college has a love affair with ice hockey, the most popular sport in Canada.
Three campuses namely the Aviation Campus, Commerce Court, and the Education Center are located in a city called North Bay which is situated near Lake Nipissing. Films like Captains of the clouds, Still Mine, The Colony, and Backcountry have been shot here. The fourth campus is in Parry sound which is 1.5 hours down south. The city won the Kraft Hockeyville competition in 2007. With over 72 sports parks, the lake Nipissing having 270 boats, and lots of trekking trails you will never feel bored in this city. The city is just a 3-hour drive from Toronto.
Students from 15 different countries come to study in Canadore. It offers more than 75 courses in many disciplines like aviation, health, business management, law and justice and many more. Ontario has a measurement system to grade colleges by how well they perform in meeting the expectations of students as well as the Industry. They are called KPI'S (key performance indicators). Canadore College has a graduate employment rate of 76%, employee satisfaction of 100% and student satisfaction of 79% which is higher than the average for all colleges in the Ontario State. The college has its own Job portal to assist students in Placement. 3500 students study in the campus simultaneously.
Canadore College has more than 44,000 alumni spread all across the world; it churns out more than 1,000 graduates every year. Canadore has a strong alumni network. Famous personalities like Susan hay (Making difference fame), Kevin Frankish(breakfast television host), Bryce Hallett(animator), Lorraine Rekmans (politician from the green party ), Derek Elliot (politician from libertarian part), Dana Hauser(first female chef of Fairmont) have graduated from Canadore College. Its employee Terry Thomason was given the informer business intelligence award for software he developed in North Carolina.
Programs
Canadore College offers more than 65 full-time post-secondary programs, focused in several key academic sectors: aviation technology; business and management; community justice and police studies; culinary arts; environmental studies and biotechnology; health, human care and wellness; indigenous studies; language, access and preparatory studies; media, design and dramatic arts; sport and recreation; and trades and technology. Part-time studies in business; general interest; geographic information systems; health sciences; hospitality; information technology; languages; law and justice; preparatory studies; recreation and leisure services; trades and technology; and transportation are also offered in the traditional classroom and/or online.

Canadore College has four campuses: Aviation Technology Campus, Commerce Court Campus, and the Education Centre (College Drive Campus) in North Bay, Ontario, one campus in West Parry Sound, Ontario, and two campuses in the GTA – Canadore at Stanford.
