Edith Cowan University (ECU)
Edith Cowan University is an Australian public university situated in Perth, Western Australia. Dating back to 1902, the main origin of this university is Claremont Teachers College, which was the first tertiary education institution in Western Australia. After this college, many other colleges were established over the successive years such as Graylands Teachers College, the Western Australian Secondary Teachers College, Nedlands College of Advanced Education, Mount Lawley Teachers College and Churchlands Teachers College. In 1982, these colleges merged to become Western Australian College of Advanced Education. On January 1, 1991, this institution was granted the 'university' status and was later renamed to Edith Cowan University.
This university comprises of eight training schools which are Business and Law School, Arts and Humanities School, Education School, Engineering School, Medical and Health Sciences School, Nursing and Midwifery School, Science School and Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. Edith Cowan University specialises in numerous study disciplinessuch as business, law, Communication, Arts, Humanities, Psychology, Social Sciences, Social Work, Criminology, Justice, Teacher education for Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary schools, full range of Engineering specialisations, Exercise and Health Sciences, Medical Science, Biomedical Science, Speech Pathology and Paramedicine, Nursing and Midwifery, Biology and Environmental Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, Biochemistry, Computing and Security Sciences.

In the field of Communications and Creative Arts, there is a Centre for Research in Entertainment, Arts, Technology, Education and Communications, and Dance Research Centre - Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. The field of education includes the Centre for Schooling and Learning Technologies, Edith Cowan Institute for Education Research and Fogarty Learning Centre. In the field of engineering and ICT, there is Australian Institute of Nuclear Science and Engineering, Centre for Communications Engineering Research, Electron Science Research Institute, National Networked Tele-Test Facility for Integrated Systems, The Western Australian Center for Microscopy/Nanoscale Characterisation.
In the field of Environment and Sustainability, this university has Ecosystem Management Centre, Marine Ecosystems Research Centre, Natural Resources Modelling and Simulation Research Group and the Western Australian Marine Science Institution.
